Privacy Policy
This policy applies to the ClearTok Likes mobile app and this website at like.cleartok.io, operated by Data Traces LLC. ClearTok Likes helps you review and remove likes from your own TikTok account.
1. Data we process
The app creates an installation-specific ClearTok account without requiring an email address or password. Our backend processes the following data:
- ClearTok account: a random installation identifier, account identifier, authentication token information, account creation and update times, and deletion status.
- Connected TikTok account: TikTok user ID, username, secondary user identifier, nickname, follower count, language and region when available, login method, platform, and connection or login times.
- Usage: scanning and removal counts, report identifiers, operation times and durations, daily allowance usage, and the local date used to calculate that allowance.
- Diagnostics: operation outcome, app version, error codes and messages, stack traces, HTTP or TikTok response status, and, when relevant to a failed operation, a TikTok video identifier. Diagnostic reports are designed to redact credentials.
- Support: your email address and any information you choose to send us when asking for help.
Our hosting providers also process network request information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and secure the service. This information is separate from the profile and operation records described above.
2. Why we use this data
We use account and connection records to authenticate your app installation and associate your connected TikTok accounts. We use usage records to apply daily allowances and reconcile operations that were reported offline. We use diagnostics to investigate failures and improve reliability, and support information to respond to you.
Account, usage, and diagnostic records can be linked to your ClearTok account. An automatically generated account identifier does not mean that all collected data is anonymous.
3. What stays on your device
Your TikTok password and TikTok session cookies are not uploaded to ClearTok servers. Your TikTok session is held in the app's local web view and used for requests made directly to TikTok. Local app storage may also contain your connection information, authentication token, scanned video list, thumbnail cache, preferences, and reports waiting to be uploaded.
Requests to remove likes run from your device under your logged-in TikTok session. We do not store copies of TikTok video media on our servers. Local thumbnail caching is used to display the scanned list.
4. Service providers and sharing
We use Cloudflare to host this website and the app backend, and Neon/PostgreSQL infrastructure for backend account, usage, and diagnostic records. These providers process data to deliver the service. The app communicates directly with TikTok to access your account and perform the actions you confirm. TikTok handles those requests under its own policies.
We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the service and its users. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising profiles.
5. Website cookies and tracking
This website does not set application cookies, use advertising trackers, embed third-party analytics, or load remote fonts. Our hosting provider may process technical request data for delivery and security. The app does not use IDFA or cross-app advertising tracking. Opening an external website, including TikTok, is subject to that website's own data practices.
6. Retention
Active account, connection, usage, and diagnostic records remain in our backend until removed through account deletion or other maintenance. Local records remain until cleared by the app, account deletion, or device storage controls. Support correspondence is handled separately and can be included in a request sent to our support team.
Operational platform logs and database backups are separate from active account records. Self-service deletion does not rewrite existing platform logs or backups; any retained copies remain subject to the providers' configured retention and access controls. Contact us for information about the current retention settings or to request assistance with data held outside the active account database.
7. Delete your ClearTok account
Open Settings → Data → Delete ClearTok account in the app. Once the server accepts the request, your ClearTok account freezes immediately. You can cancel from the account deletion screen before the displayed deadline.
After 24 hours, deletion can no longer be cancelled. A scheduled background task permanently removes the active ClearTok account, its TikTok connections and login history, scan diagnostics, removal usage records, and removal diagnostics. TikTok profile information is removed when no other ClearTok account still references it. Background processing or service interruptions may delay completion after the deadline.
After the app confirms that server deletion has completed, it clears the local TikTok session, app authentication state, scan results, thumbnails, usage state, and pending reports. If the device is offline or local cleanup fails, local cleanup completes when the app can reconnect and retry. Keeping the app installed and opening it again allows it to confirm completion.
Minimal retained record: the backend retains a one-way SHA-256 hash of the deleted installation identifier and its deletion time to prevent that old installation identity from restoring the deleted account. No automatic expiry is currently configured for this record. The record does not contain the original installation identifier, ClearTok user ID, TikTok profile, or operation history.
Deleting ClearTok data does not delete your TikTok account, undo removed likes, or perform any new action on TikTok. You may start again with a new ClearTok installation identity by explicitly connecting after deletion is complete.
8. Your choices and requests
You can disconnect a TikTok account in Settings. Disconnecting clears that connection locally and marks it unbound in our backend; it does not delete historical usage or diagnostic records. Use account deletion to remove the ClearTok account and its associated active records.
You can stop using the app, use its demo without connecting TikTok, or contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or help with other privacy choices available under applicable law. Uninstalling the app does not submit a backend account deletion request.
9. Children and changes
ClearTok Likes is not directed to children under 13 or below the minimum age required by TikTok in their region. We may update this policy as the product changes. The updated policy will be published here with a revised date.
